Keynote Speaker
Schools that Heal & Social Workers as Leaders in the Process
This conference explored the importance of creating schools that holistically address every aspect of a child's well-being in order to ensure academic and long term success. I discussed my use of trauma-informed research to advocate for the further advancement of student healing at the Brooklyn School for Social Justice. I described, alongside Principal Ana Marsh, different practices that social workers/counselors could do to help schools adapt and transform. Trauma-informed adaptations ultimately lead to higher levels of student performance and well-being.
3 Continuing Education Credits were awarded for NYS, NJ and CT licensed social workers.
